Principles of Artificial Economics in Animal Minds
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper describes the results of a simulation using metrics associated with the principles of artificial economics in animal cognition. The main purpose of this research paper is to understand the principles of natural minds and adopt these principles in a simulation environment. This approach necessasarily requires the design and test of a range of simple and complex computational agents. The developed micro-agents in a fungus world testbed are designed to investigate artificial minds for animals and synthetic agents, drawing on qualities found in the natural minds. Qualities such as level of decision making, its cost function and utility behaviour (the microeconomic level), physiological and goal oriented behaviour are investigated.

Computational Test Beds for Synthetic and Robotic Agents
This paper describes how to setup frameworks for testing computational theories and performance of robots. Test beds and benchmarks are mainly used as metrics to measure and compare the performance and outcomes of robotics and cognitive architectures. Artificial economics simulation concepts are taken as an example to demonstrate working mechanisms in fungus world testbed set up. The metrics us...
متن کاملMetacognition , Agents , Animats and the Society of Minds
This paper presents the initial results in the design of a society of agents using the concept of optimal qualities of animal cognition. The main purpose of this research paper is to understand the principles of natural minds and adopt these principles to simulate artificial minds. These approaches necessarily require the design, testing and computational analysis of both simple and complex age...
متن کاملSoft Artificial Life, Artificial Agents and Artificial Economics
This paper describes the results of a simulation to demonstrate the principles and emergent intelligence associated with artificial life. Economic theory can be applied to artificial life in order to analyze and model adaptive or intelligent behaviors. This research is concerned with the principles whereby an animats competent for its resources, and so demonstrates intelligent behavior. This ap...

متن کاملEvolving artificial minds and brains
We explicate representational content by addressing how representations that explain intelligent behavior might be acquired through processes of Darwinian evolution. We present the results of computer simulations of evolved neural network controllers and discuss the similarity of the simulations to real-world examples of neural network control of animal behavior. We argue that focusing on the s...
